Sorry I haven't blogged until now but the holiday has been pretty hectic!
Today we set off from our hotel by Heathrow and rushed though the airport and was on our flight within no time!
Our flight was amazing...I have never been with virgin or on a long haul flight for that matter...and we were given so much free stuff!
We arrived in New York earlier than planned and then got our transfer to our hotel which was about a forty minute transfer. We got to our hotel which was in such a great location....only a twenty minute walk to times squsre and a two minute walk to the nearest subway. We were on 76th street in hotel beacon. We then unpacked only some of our suitcases as we didn't need everything for new York!
We then went into Times square which was so busy ...but it was brilliant seeing all the lights and the shops. We took lots of pictures and went in the m and m store that is amazing! We also looked in toys are us and hersheys. We ate in Applebees which was on a side road by times square and then headed back to the hotel after taking some more pictures and getting accustmed to the amercian culture.
We were pretty shattered so had an early night even though it felt weird to be in a different time zone!
We have a lot planned for tomorrow already!

A Successful day
Today was nice to be able to go shopping and not think about university! My cousin Jeanette and I went for a spot of holiday shopping in West Quay in Southampton....which was a success - yay! We arrived at 11ish where I was dreading the site of fast paced shoppers dashing around which is the usual site that I see when I visit. Luckily though for us, it wasn't that busy and we were able to shop at a normal pace.
Going in and out numerous shops where I was assuming I would not find anything suitable for holiday, I was glad and surprised to find various things that I could take. First off I got a nice coral strap top and sleeveless style top that ties up (I am not very good at describing it!) but both would be ideal for Florida.
I also braved Primark to see if there were any bargains where I found a nice pair of blue linen shorts and a strapless navy dress - again both are good for Florida. Luckily it wasn't very busy in here - the joys of shopping on a quiet week day!
I got a pair of jean style jeggings too which will be nice to wear in New York - it's so difficult trying to buy for two different locations when the weather could be completely opposite to each other!
I also got two skirts from H & M but think I will end up taking these back as I didn't think they looked right when I got home - but it means I can buy nicer things for holiday.
At the end of the shopping trip we popped in Superdrug to buy different holiday bits and bobs like the toiletries (which isn't very exciting unfortunately). I managed to buy quite a lot of different things and ended up finding lots of bargains in there - I love a bargain.
After five hours of shopping we got back to the car to try and rush back to Portsmouth and miss the rush hour traffic - which we luckily did as we had planned to go to the 6.30p.m showing of The Woman in Black.
We managed to get to the cinema early ready to watch the film. There wasn't many people in the cinema either which was surprising for a Friday night. I was pretty scared about watching the film - considering I had been scared from the advert, however, I only found out that night it was actually a 12a so I figured that perhaps it wouldn't be that bad.
I was wrong - okay so there were only a few 'jumpy' bits in the film but at these parts I found myself watching behind my hands that were infront of my face. The worst thing was that I could keep visualising the creepy people afterwards, even though I went out of my way to watch various TV shows that night! I love to watch scarey films but at the same time I don't!
So that was the end of a great day - even though I didn't sleep great which I knew would happen!
Maybe next time it will be a chick flick at the cinema.

I'm So Excited
So, I thought for my first post I could talk about some big news ......finally the time came for my Final Year Project to be handed in on Monday! After a long time of having no spare time, constant writing, planning, editing, re-editing bla bla bla - don't want to bore you ....it's over. I practically had no life (although this would seem a bit drastic) but only now I can begin to think about life after university. Plus for the first time in a while I can do nothing on my days off!
So the real excitement now is that I can begin to look forward to my three week holiday in April! It has been booked for a long time and only now have I been able to get excited about it as I had my other university worries to think about.
My boyfriend Josh and I are going to America for over 3 weeks! YAY - I cannot wait for it. We booked it to go at the end of university to celebrate finishing our third year! We are off to New York for a week and then travelling to Florida for over two! I haven't ever been to America and cannot believe it is only a short time until we are going.
Now I actually have time to think about our holiday I need to get all my bits and bobs ready - although still trying to finish off the last few weeks of university. I need to buy new holiday clothes and sort out what I need to take. The only problem is, the holiday is literally a couple of days after we finish, meaning there will be no time to think about packing!
Luckily I think all of our trips are now sorted for when we go which is a great help. We are starting the holiday off in style and travelling up to the airport in a luxury car that will drop us off at our hotel. We thought that as this was a one off amazing holiday, we may as well do things that will make the holiday one to remember.
We are then flying out the following day and will arrive in New York at about 12. Then we can go and experience life in The Big Apple! Our trips that we have booked include the 9/11 memorial, The Empire State Building, NBC Studio tour and seeing Mary Poppins on Broadway (I cannot wait for this). We also will be going to see The Statue of Liberty and may even do a speed boat tour seeing a lot of the City. We are hoping to go and eat in some nice restaurants too so if you know of any, I would love to have suggestions.
Then our plans for Florida include visiting all of the Disney and Universal Parks, water parks, Sea World and all of the others! We also have a Miami trip booked where we will be taken to the Everglades. The holiday will be cram packed every day so it will be hectic but it will be AMAZING!
So, when we do go off on our travels I am hoping I will be able to post blogs whilst I am out there to keep you updated of each day.
For the time being, it is back to essays and looking for graduate jobs.
But the count down continues.
